Happy Spring! By the time you are reading this I will have driven 15 hours to Louisville KY to be at the Bourbon City Steampunk Festival! I am looking forward to this show. I'll be teaching an intro to embroidery class where we will make a needlebook. A Needlebook is where needles were stored in ages past. Ideally the pages would be made of wool; the lanolin protects the needles. I'll share some pictures of our work in a future newsletter. In the meantime, here is a picture of some goodies I will be taking with me.
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Blessed Yule! You guys are probably pretty busy this time of year. I am relaxing. All of my minors are majors now; my eldest is 26 and my youngest is 18. We're not big consumers in our family these days, and with no small ones to buy toys for, or lots of gifts to wrap, I can relax. I also just finished a 9 week long renaissance festival, so I'm a bit burned out. Eggnog, and lazy days for me, and thinking about new products, and ordering supplies that come only from afar. Speaking of my kids, here is a photo of my son Daniel, who is 18, wearing the leather coat I made him before his runway debut. He loves it so much.
